7th - 9th Grade
Woodlake helps seventh through ninth graders grow into stronger, more faith-filled young adults. Preparing for the Rite of Confirmation (at the end of ninth grade) involves small group interaction with each other and an adult guide. As our teens prepare to affirm their faith, they
learn together on Wednesday evenings
worship together on Sunday mornings
serve together in meaningful projects
and attend an annual retreat.
Fellowship with other Christian young people is a vital component of spiritual growth. Opportunities to simply have fun are offered on a regular basis. Special outings or a summer trip can spark your child’s excitement and enthusiasm.
Service to others is also part of a child’s development. Your teen can serve Holy Communion, rake a lawn for an elderly neighbor, or devise a new way to use his or her unique talents.
10th - 12th Grade
Young men and women are considered to be adult members of the parish following Confirmation. Even as their role in the life of the congregation grows and changes, they benefit from support and nurture appropriate to their specific age group.
Education, fellowship and service opportunities are all part of the special programming for this age group.
Frequent Bible studies, short weekend "get-aways," and one-time events all help the busy high-school student take part in church life in spite of a demanding schedule. A number of offerings in various formats means that even the busiest young person can participate occasionally.
Professional staffing gives continuity and credibility to Woodlake’s youth programming. It means there’s always an adult who will smile and say "hello" when your young adult comes to church.
